Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)

Want to improve your chances of immigrating to Canada? Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) give eligible candidates a competitive edge by offering a pathway to nomination from a specific province or territory.

What are Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs)?

Provincial Nominee Programs are designed for individuals who can contribute to a province’s economy and intend to live in that province. If nominated, candidates may apply for permanent residence either through Express Entry or directly to IRCC. A Provincial Nomination Certificate (PNC) can significantly boost your Express Entry score or serve as a standalone route to permanent residence, even if you don’t qualify through federal programs. Processing times vary by province, but once nominated, applications typically take about 8 months through Express Entry and 19 months through non-Express Entry pathways.

Who qualifies?

Eligibility criteria vary by province. Most provinces offer streams for:

  • Skilled workers

  • Semi-skilled workers or trades

  • Entrepreneurs

  • International students and recent graduates

  • Must qualify for both a federal Express Entry stream and a provincial nominee program

  • Receive a Provincial Nomination Certificate (PNC)

  • Increases your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score
